The pergola provides an opportunity for shade and privacy. Another feature of the pergola is that the downspout of the house runs through the pergola in order to drain into this integrated pond. The pond is designed with an overflow that empties into an adjacent rain garden when the water level rises.

The homeowner wanted to create an enclosure around their built-in hot tub to add some privacy. The contractor, Husker Decks, designed a privacy wall with alternating materials. The aluminum privacy screen in 'River Rock' mixed with a horizontal wood wall in a rich stain blend to create a privacy wall that blends perfectly into the homeowner's backyard space and style.

The pergola, above the uppermost horizontal 'strip' of cedar, is a bronze poly-carbonate, which allows light to come through, but which blocks UV rays and keeps out the rain. It's also available in clear, and a few more colors.

This cozy sanctuary has been transformed from a drab sun-blasted deck into an inspirational home-above-home get away! Our clients work and relax out here on the daily, and when entertaining is cool again, they plan to host friends in their beautiful new space. The old deck was removed, the roof was repaired and new paver flooring, railings, a pergola and gorgeous garden furnishings & features were installed to create a one of a kind urban escape.

This property is an infill lot located on a dense residential street on Mercer Island. The Design incorporated a Mid Century Chic character with a North West Edgy Vibe and a distinctive architectural detail.
